Fund Raiser for Elliott May

On Friday October 24th the Beech Grove Professional Firefighters Local 416 held a fundraiser on behalf of Elliot May to purchase a whirlpool tub with exercise equipment.  Elliot May is a 6 year old boy with a diagnosis of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.  He has already developed significant lower extremity range of motion limitations.  Passive range of motion exercises is uncomfortable and painful for him.  He responds well to warm water relaxation preceding any attempts to stretch his tight muscles.  He will benefit from a daily warm whirlpool tub with exercise equipment attached that can provide muscle relaxation to augment and enhance the stretching routine that his mom attempts to provide to his lower extremities.  This will help him maintain ambulation status as long as possible, prevent further orthopedic deformity and hopefully prevent some pain.

The event was a big success and we were able to obtain our goal in reaching $6,000.00.  Beech Grove Professional Firefighters would like to thank all the Sponsors and Donators for this event. We would also like to thank Kim Kahler and Kim Evans for all their help.  Firefighters would like to thank Holy Name for the use of their cafeteria.  Below are pictures of some big donations made Friday Night October 24th to include Wal-Mart.
