A Message from Chief Robert Cheshire...

Welcome to the Beech Grove Fire Department.  I would like to welcome you to learn more about our community and your fire department. As Fire Chief, I have the privilege to serve a great community and work alongside some of the most talented individuals in the Fire Service. Our promise to the Citizens of Beech Grove is that we will strive to maintain our level of exceptional customer service and will always be prepared to respond to your needs day or night with professionalism, compassion, and respect.  

 The Vision of our department is as follows;
  • We will strive to be role models in the community and leaders in our profession.
  • We will work with community leaders, local businesses, and the general public to effectively educate and inform on ways to prevent fires and teach injury prevention.
  • We will partner with City Leaders, Department Heads, local businesses, and community stakeholders to effectively prepare and inform the citizens of Beech Grove in ways to protect and prepare themselves in the event of natural and man-made disasters.
  • We will be accountable to those we serve, each other and National Standards of our profession.
  • We are committed to providing the best public service through innovative training, education and maintaining our equipment. 
  • We will conduct business inspections and other life safety programs that encompass the City of Beech Grove and keep our community a safe place in which to live and work.
  • We will take the Beech Grove Fire Department into the future through productive teamwork, open and honest communications, and participative decision-making throughout the organization.
  • Our organization is driven to provide a cost effective and efficient fire department while honoring our values, accomplishing our mission and achieving our goals, while maintaining dedicated to our professionalism within the fire service.
  • Thank you for taking the time to become familiar with us.  As the Fire Chief, I take it as my personal responsibility to make the City of Beech Grove as safe as possible through our commitment to Fire Suppression and Emergency Medical Services, and utilizing our resources for Fire and Injury Prevention, along with Emergency Planning.
