Basic Minimum Requirements to be a Beech Grove Police Officer:
(Please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements.)
 

1.) Age: A person may not be appointed as a member of the police department after the person has reached thirty-six (36) years of age.

2.) Residency: Members of the police department (police officers only) must reside in Indiana, in one of the following areas:
    a. Within the county in which the city is located.
    b. It a county that is contiguous to the county in which the city is located.

NOTE: To qualify for assignment of a police vehicle, police offers must reside within 15 miles of the Beech Grove city limits.

2.) Residency: To qualify for assignment of a police vehicle, police officers must reside within 15 miles of the Beech Grove City limits.
 
3.) Education: Applicants must be a high school graduate.

4.) No criminal or serious misdemeanor arrest record.

5.) Must posses a valid Indiana drivers license.
 
6.) Applicants must meet ILEA standards for physical fitness, including the vertical jump, one-minute sit-ups, 300 or 400 meter run, push-ups and a 1.5 mile run.

All submitted applications must be complete and accompanied by a copy of your birth certificate and high school diploma. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Also include copies of all other diplomas and/or certificates of schools attended with grade and/or credit transcripts. Include military discharge papers, and a copy of your driver's license.
