BGTV is what is known as a PEG channel. PEG stands for public, educational and government access channel and can be seen on Comcast channel 28 inside the Beech Grove city limits. BGTV began back in 1983 with only 2 hours of monthly programming. 2008 is the 25th year for BGTV. BGTV is the only legitimate media outlet that is 100% dedicated to the city of Beech Grove.

BGTV attends and broadcasts all public municipal meetings each month. Every meeting is either shown live on the channel and replayed throughout the month, or recorded and replayed. On top of the meetings being replayed on Channel 28, the meetings are also digitized and uploaded to the Internet which allows the programs to be viewed on a PC.  BGTV is presently in negotiations with AT&T Digital Cable service to provide BGTV on the AT&T Cable network.
